    BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

    1982

Before the well known lavish musical production of today, there was another 'Beauty and The Beast' - our panto, described in the News Mail as a "dynamic show that must be included in Players' success stories; with audience participation extremely loud and needing very little encouragement"

Lyndall Pratt (formerly Duncan) as Beauty, was described as "a compliment to any fairy story performed on a stage; the perfectly devoted daughter content with whatever made her father happy and ignoring snide remarks from her ugly (aren't they always?) sisters"

Others in the cast included Greg Toohey and Val O'Meara (her sisters), Geoff Colledge (her father) and Nigel Dick as The Beast (aka Prince Ferdinand), The large chorus included D A Halpin, Val and Glenys Nelson.
